Push it…

Artist Eric Daigh is insane… in a really, really, really, good way. (Bet you never look at the push pin section at staples the same way again.)

via booooooom there are a bunch more on here and it’s pretty much one of my favorite sites, so check this out too.

When you came in the air went out….

true_blood_contact

I make no secret about my ongoing fascination with HBO’s True Blood, and as any avid fan knows the title sequence is particularly well done. Although we have a DVR at our home, we ALWAYS watch the opening credits for this show (and this show only) because of the mood it sets. I even downloaded the song onto my ipod, and I am not a big country fan. There is an amazing write-up about it here!

The Art of the Title Sequence is a wonderful source for both information and inspiration. Painstakingly curated to display the best of the best this site is a wealth extraordinary work, and a great mix of new releases and your old favorites.

Design is Kinky . And so am I. (haha loves it!)

Change the Thought

changerevolves

Changethethought was founded in 2002. It was originally created to harbor the personal creative work of artist and designer Christopher Cox. Although the site does still harbor Christopher’s body of work it has since grown into a usable archive of creative inspiration for the online art and design community.

I have seen Christopher’s work before and this site is truly a wonderful source of ideas and inspiration. The blog/homepage is a veritable cornucopia of motion graphics home-runs. Check it!

But Does it Float

This site is consistently badass. I especially love the way the images take center stage allowing a simple thought provoking sentence to accompany the work. Here is a link to an especially awesome post about NYT Magazine.

If I were to win the lottery tomorrow, and felt compelled to shop, I would just go here and get one of everything.

Death of Newspapers?

news

I saw a re-run of Real Time with Bill Maher this weekend and Bill talks about the “Death of Newspapers.” It was a really interesting discussion, and well worth a quick look at the comments over at his HBO site! We just started a project in my senior port class that explores this very problem through design, and I will be posting our ideas soon!

Unplugged

The people over at Apartment Therapy (which is in and of itself a whole other post about amazingness.) have a bitchin tech blog Unpluggd with a serious eye for design. Not only is there really great reviews about gadgets, but they also let you look inside the homes of tech professionals which is pretty damn cool. I highly recommend them. I recommend all of their blogs for that matter! Just a side note but their “the kitchn” blog up top is kind of a lifesaver! Happy surfing!

Inspiration Resource

Inspiration Resource is a wonderful blog compiled by Michelle McCromick that aims at providing graphic designers with… well… inspiration! She sums it up nicely in her sidebar:

A place for graphic designers to gather images and be inspired. Come find inspiration… borrow all you like and please feel free to comment to share how you used our inspiration. We post Monday through Friday!

“fuct” The Love Awareness Program

FUCT

Yes. That is how it is spelled. This is just one of those places I like to go to remember that it doesn’t all have to be perfect. I find most of this elicits an emotional reaction. It’s more a stream of consciousness than anything, but it’s like a palette cleanser for uniformity and dullness. Just a bunch of cool ass stuff. The categories alone are worth the trip (literally). Don’t let the naked chick on the motorcycle scare you. She comes in peace.
