Have you seen my keys?

I give you giant rubber, acid trip tassle, may double as whip, keychain.
Allow me to explain:
Earlier Today…
I went to Walmart. There I found this giant bag of pink, orange, and blue rubber bands while looking for a crazy amount of gold safety pins. (FYI they don’t have them). I liked the colors, and the whole enormous bag was around $5 so…
Crafting. Challenge. Accepted.

Lately I have been looking for a non lame keychain. I, like so many people, suffer from an inability to remember where I put my keys frequently. It’s seriously challenging for me, so I decided to make my own key chain. If success is measured by how impossible it will be for me to loose my keys NOW vs. Before Walmart, then this is an INCREDIBLY successful craft.
Heres how I did this! Continue reading

Lets get some shoes…

Actually lets MAKE some shoes would be more appropriate. So there are these Jeffrey Campbell shoes I like, however I don’t have 300 dollars to spend on (let’s be honest with ourselves) pretty ankle breakers soooooooo. I bought these kicky little knockoffs at Targét. They are a smaller platform which is much more my speed and with the help of some 97 cent for 70 nickel push pins from walmart I shall have my hearts desire in no time.

real thing = around $300
My version = base shoes $29.95 + 10 packs of pins = $39.65

I WIN!

Push it…

Artist Eric Daigh is insane… in a really, really, really, good way. (Bet you never look at the push pin section at staples the same way again.)

via booooooom there are a bunch more on here and it’s pretty much one of my favorite sites, so check this out too.

Shitdisco

These precious little angles call themselves Shitdisco. I don’t know why, maybe they were deprived of having a puppy when they were munchkins. What I do know is they rip.
As part of my never ending quest to search youtube for popup book excitement I found this. If you have not seen it its pretty rad. So watch it and don’t ever tell me I never did anything for you. ;)

Video for Shitdisco’s song “OK”. Pop-up book puppetry at it’s best! Directed by Price James. (www.myspace.com/pricejames) Visit www.myspace.com/shitdisco for more info and music!

Shrinky Dink Typography of Course!

I made this as my friday night font book last semester. It reminds me of a necklace I used to wear with charms all over it when I was five. At the time I felt it made me look like Madonna. I had this fantasy of being able to ride the tricycle in the kindergarden playground with my charm necklace, lace skirt outfit, silver tap shoes, scrunchie socks, feathered bangs and braces. Sadly my teeth were straight, and my mom had this thing about me leaving the house looking like a psychopath. Anyway, at least I know why this necklace makes me so very happy.
